DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: ARRIVAL
Upon your arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica and after clearing customs and immigration, exit the airport terminal
where you will meet one of our transport representatives, who will present you with land portion vouchers and
transfer you to your hotel in San Jose. Located three blocks from Paseo Colon, the citys main avenue, and walking distance of downtown. Sample local and international cuisine at RBG Bar & Grill, and enjoy a dip in the shimmering outdoor pool. Its comfortable accommodations feature free wireless Internet access, a mini bar and a coffee maker. The orthopedic mattress and plasma TV create a relaxing environment for your evening.

Day 2: PRIVATE TRANSFER TO ARENAL EN ROUTE STOP AT LA PAZ WATEFALL GARDENS (B, L, D)
Private transfer to Arenal en route stop at t La Paz Waterfall Gardens, located in the mountains near Cinchona, is a
beautiful facility with restaurants, flower, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, aviary, rescued animal zoo,
serpentarium, live frog exhibit, orchid exhibit, all surrounded by cloud forests. Stroll leisurely along the well-
maintained trails to view the numerous exhibits and gardens and the famous waterfalls of the pristine La Paz River.
Bring: comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, camera, binoculars, insect repellent, sunscreen and rain gear. Includes:
Entrance fee. Unlike any other hotel in the area, this lodge is situated within the Arenal National Park. The Arenal Observatory
Lodge was originally a family farm and later a Smithsonian Institute scientific research station. Just about every
room has picturesque views of Arenal Volcano, whose steep conical slopes rise majestically out of vast surrounding
rainforests. The National Park surrounding the lodge teems with wildlife. The lodge practices reforestation and
contributes to community projects.

Day 4: HANGING BRIDGES (B, D)
You will visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges. This is a complex of suspension bridges and trails through beautiful rain
forest. The terrain undulates and the trail crosses ravines with small waterfalls and travels over bridges with
panoramic vistas over the treetops including views of Arenal Volcano. As you walk you may encounter wildlife
including toucans, poison dart frogs, howling, spider and white-faced capuchin monkeys. The 1.5 mile trail is an
easy walk for people in good condition and loops back to the starting point. Bring: comfortable clothing, hiking
shoes, insect repellent, camera, binoculars, sunscreen and rain gear. Includes entrance fee.
Day 5: ARENAL-QUEPOS (B)
Private transfer with your guide and driver to Manuel Antonio. Transport service will be in a minivan with AC,
approximately 4 hour transfer plus any stops on the way. Recently listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the 12
Worlds Most Beautiful National Parks, Manuel Antonio is a combination of lush forests, warm water, gorgeous
beaches and abundant wildlife. Friendly monkeys, sloths, iguanas and colorful birds live in the park assuring plenty
to see while hiking the parks easy trails.
Located in front of Manuel Antonio Beach, and next to the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. If you are
visiting the area to relax at the beach and visit the National Park, you will find no better place to enjoy peace and
quiet than Hotel Karahe. The gardens meet the ocean and the entrance of the park only 10 minutes away within
easy walking distance. The swimming pool and jacuzzi, as well as the restaurant, sit within earshot of the ocean.

Day 6: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK (B)
In 2011 Forbes Magazine compiled a list of the 12 most beautiful national parks from among nearly 7000 parks
around the world. Manuel Antonio National Park was included in the list of 12 top parks for its gorgeous cream
colored beach, lush forest growing to the beach edge, abundant wildlife, warm pacific waters, easy forest trails and
scenic ocean overlooks. Walking the park trails you will likely encounter a variety of wildlife-the animals are
accustomed to visitors-including squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, sloths, black iguanas and agoutis. Bring:
snacks and water; sunscreen, swimwear; hiking clothing, shoes and sandals; camera, binoculars and rain gear.

Day 3: GUIDED WALK ARENAL OBSERVATORY AND PRIVATE WALK GIOVANNIS TRAILS, DINNER ARENAL VIDA CAMPESINA ORGANIC FARM (B, L, D)
Arenal Observatory Lodge lies in the heart of one of Costa Ricas largest natural areas. Howler monkeys call from
the forest and the rich volcanic soil supports primary and secondary rainforest teeming with butterflies, mammals,
reptiles and 400 species of birds. Seven miles of manicured, well-marked walking, bike and horseback riding trail
system traverses the property and provides safe, easy access to breathtaking natural beauty. The trails are never
crowded. There is a hanging bridge, waterfall, Cerro Chato crater lake or hardened lava flow to explore! Your guide
will help interpret the lush landscape and stop along the way to discuss the volcano, flora and fauna.
This is a unique urban park, compose of two kilometers of walking trails located in the heart of La Fortuna town.
Name after Giovanni Bogarín, the first resident nature guide and trail designer at the Arenal Observatory Lodge
and lava flows in the Arenal National Park, this beautiful rainforest oasis is home to much wildlife including,
toucans, parrots, boat billed herons, sloths, poison dart frogs among other rainforest creatures. A really flat and
friendly walking path, not common in the hilly terrain of the Arenal area, Giovanni’s trails is a great option for nature
lovers that have a free morning or afternoon near la Fortuna. The park has 10 bridges, shelters for rain, and toilets.
As the afternoon ends, enjoy a guided journey of our property and gather for yourself the tubers, fruits, and
vegetables that have been organically produced. Mill and enjoy a delicious juice of sugar cane squeezed in our
handmade Trapiche. At our restaurant, La Guaria Morada, be part of our classes of Costa Rican typical cusine.

Day 7: FREE DAY IN MANUEL ANTONIO (B, D)

Day 8: DEPARTURE. TRANSFER TO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (B)
Today you will fly back to San Jose and then be transferred to the International Airport. Check in 3 hours before your scheduled flight home. Pura Vida!
